Why a proof
The job doesn’t stall at the file.
It stalls in the days between “can you do this logo?” and “yes, go ahead” — the photo of a logo texted at 9pm, the three questions you ask every time, the mockup in a drawing app, the week of silence, the “I thought it would be bigger.” Whether you run a shop or sew four orders a month from the spare room, that gap is where the time goes and where the money gets lost. Proofs owns it.
One link collects the job
Send an intake link (or forward their email). It gathers the artwork and the answers — garment, colour, size, placement, how many — on a page with your name on it. A readiness report tells you the logo has 3 mm text or a blurry edge before you spend the evening on it.
Approved from a parking lot
The proof is a mobile page, no account, no app. They see the real stitches, the thread colours, the size on the garment, and approve in ten seconds. If they go quiet, PiperStitch sends the reminders on your schedule so your evenings aren’t spent chasing.
Proof of what they said yes to
Approval is tied to that version, on that garment, at that size, in that placement. Change any of it and PiperStitch asks again rather than reusing the old yes. A Certificate of Approval records who, when and exactly what — for the day someone says “that’s not what I picked.”
The difference
The proof is the stitch file.
Every other proofing tool shows a flat picture of the artwork and hopes the embroidery matches. A PiperStitch proof is rendered from the exact DST or PES that will go to the machine — visible stitch texture, real thread colours from your machine’s palette, the true stitch count and dimensions, the density you chose. What they approve is what comes off the machine, because it can’t be anything else.

Collect the art and the job
Send the intake link, or forward their email into PiperStitch. Artwork, garment, colour, size, placement and quantity arrive together. The readiness report flags what won’t sew at the size they asked for.
Digitize it
Everything you already do in PiperStitch. When it looks right, click Send to Proofs and the design is already waiting on the job.
The proof builds itself
Stitch render, garment mockup, thread stops, size, stitch count, placement diagram and your terms — composed from the real file. Adjust the garment, add a note, send by email or text.
They answer from their phone
Approve, request a change with a note on the picture, or ask a question. Delivered, opened and viewed are all tracked. Silence gets a reminder on the day you chose.
Sew it, signed off
Approval writes the certificate and unlocks the run ticket: file, thread stops in order, hoop, backing, placement measurements, count by size. A reorder reuses the approval when nothing changed and asks again when something did.
When it matters
A record you can point at.
Every step of a proof is an evidence record: sent, delivered, opened, viewed, commented, approved — each with the time, the device, and the exact consent text they saw. The Certificate of Approval bundles it with a fingerprint of the exact file they approved. Most disputes never get that far; the ones that do are settled by showing the certificate. It stays downloadable forever, whether or not you’re still subscribed.

Revision rounds that stay straight

The ones people ask first.
Does the person I’m sewing for need an account?
No. They get a link by email or text and open it in their phone’s browser. No password, no app, nothing to install. They can approve, ask for a change, or ask a question right there.
I only do a few orders a month. Is this for me?
Especially. The fewer orders you do, the more one reprint or one week of silence costs you. The three included proofs cover a light month outright; add Proofs when you find you’re reaching for it every time.
Is the approval actually useful in a dispute?
It’s a great deal more than “they clicked OK.” The certificate records who approved, when, from what device, the exact consent text they saw, and a fingerprint of the exact stitch file — and the approval only ever covers one version on one garment at one size. Most disagreements end when the customer sees it. It isn’t legal advice, and we’re not lawyers; it is a clear, timestamped record of what was agreed.
What happens if I cancel Proofs?
Nothing is deleted or hidden. Links already in customers’ hands keep working, an approval in progress can still be completed, and every certificate stays downloadable. You just can’t send new proofs until you subscribe again.
Do I need Proofs to use PiperStitch?
No. PiperStitch digitizes and exports on its own. Proofs is for the moment the design is for someone other than you.
